Details of item to be added: Council petition both CRD /MOTi to extend the GGT Trail Widening / Lighting Project from Uptown beyond Spectrum to the Helmcken Overpass. Tillicum was based on a 2020 study, and since then View Royal has many new dwelling units, new Handydart facility, major employers with VGH / Eagle Creek Centre area. In 2020 MOTi was finishing the McKenzie Interchange, now it is building the TCH rapid bus lanes from Tillicum to Thetis Interchange. CRD has MOU agreement with MOTi for active transportation targets. This project is the project synergy we need to EXTEND the GGT Widening and Lighting to to Helmcken. Petition CRD to include this project extension in its 2024-2028 financial plan and work with MOTi as a partner. (provide additional information as an attachment if required)
