Council Meeting
Meeting Overview
The View Royal Council meeting held on February 16, 2010, focused on several key development and community initiatives. Major discussions included a 65-unit subdivision application at 2420 Chilco Road, which involved considerations for fire management and parkland dedication. Council also addressed the potential heritage significance of local Anglican churches facing closure. Significant legislative progress was made regarding 'urban agriculture' with readings for bylaws permitting chickens and bees in residential zones. Additionally, Council formally reported out an in-camera decision not to renew the Admirals Walk lease for the View Royal Reading Centre, while supporting a grant-in-aid process for the organization. Mayor Hill expressed opposition to the lease non-renewal.
