Meeting Overview

The View Royal Council meeting held on November 16, 2010, addressed several development applications and municipal financial planning matters. Significant discussion took place regarding the proposed closure of Crane Place and road access issues on Heddle Avenue, leading to the tabling of Bylaw No. 777. Key Decisions

  • THAT the agenda be amended to include 8.1 (a)(4) (a-f), 9.1(2), 9.2(6) and 10 (2)(a & b) and remove 8.2 (a)(7) - Craigflower Bridge Repair and Expansion Project. AND FURTHER that the agenda be approved as amended.
  • THAT the minutes of the Council meeting held November 2, 2010 be adopted.
  • THAT Development Permit 2010/07 for 55 Kingham Place be approved, which will amend Development Permit 06/08, as per the plans attached to the report from the Senior Planner. AND THAT Development Permit 2010/07 include: a variance to the required front yard setback from 7.5m to 4.65m; and a requirement to install sediment and erosion control fencing during construction.
  • THAT KPMC LLP be appointed as the external auditors for the Town of View Royal for the fiscal years 2010, 2011 and 2012; AND THAT there be an option to extend for two additional periods of one year each, to a maximum total term of five years; AND FURTHER THAT the option to extend the term of the contract is by mutual agreement between the two parties.
  • THAT the Greater Victoria Public Library’s 2011 Operating Budget and Five Year Financial Plan (2011-2015) – Provisional, be received.
