Please accept this email as our way of voicing our disapproval with respect to the proposed building of a Handy Dart facility in our community. We have resided at 2201 Highland Road since 1999 and during this time have dealt with many changes. Almost all of these changes have to do with traffic, with increased buildings which includes a mini mall, a remand facility along with many townhouses and condos.

The infrastructure has not kept up with the traffic demands of the local primary school, Victoria General Hospital, the new mini mall or Highland Golf Course. There is also increased traffic with those coming from the Saanich areas and the university as Helmken and Prospect Lake Roads have become the new short cuts to get to the highway or Colwood/ Metchosin. What was once a safe quiet community has become a fast paced short cut. Safety concerns have been raised by families whose children are crossing the road to get to school.

We would appreciate reconsideration be made with respect to this proposal.....this is a close knit family community.....not an industrial park.
