This special council meeting of the Town of View Royal was primarily held to adopt the Not-for-Profit Rental Housing Development Cost Charges Reduction Bylaw No. 1020, 2019 and to pass a resolution regarding the Capital Regional District (CRD) Regional Parks Acquisition Fund. Council resolved to request that the CRD maintain the current vision and principles of the acquisition fund and ensure extensive public consultation before any changes are made.

- C-15-20 WHEREAS the number one priority of Capital Regional District (CRD) Parks is to protect the region's biodiversity; WHEREAS the CRD Regional Parks Land Acquisition Fund has been a resounding success and protected over 4,200 hectares of land since its inception in the year 2000; WHEREAS extensive public consultation was held in the past year regarding the continuance of the Fund in its present form; THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Mayor and Council write to the CRD Board requesting that the vision, values and the principles of the Regional Parks Land Acquisition Fund be maintained; AND FURTHER that no changes be considered without extensive consultation with the public and all partners.
