2018 UBCM EVACUATION ROUTE PLANNING GRANT APPLICATION APPROVAL
RECOMMENDATION:
THAT Council passes a resolution approving the application for the 2018 Union of British Columbia Municipalities (UBCM) Evacuation Planning Grant and THAT Council direct staff to bring forward a report when notification of funding approval has been received from UBCM.

I concur with the recommendation.
PURPOSE OF REPORT:
To inform council that on behalf of the Town of View Royal, the View Royal Emergency Management Division will be submitting an application to the 2018 Union of British Columbia Municipalities (UBCM) Evacuation Grant Program for a grant to contact consultant, in conjunction with neighbouring municipalities and First Nations, to draft an evacuation plan/guideline up to the amount of $25,000 to complete the project.
