Adopted 2007

Plain English Summary

This bylaw allows the Town of View Royal to use a ticket system for enforcing its bylaws. Instead of going to court, bylaw officers can issue tickets with fines for various offenses. The bylaw lists which Town bylaws can be enforced this way, and which Town employees are authorized to issue these tickets. It also specifies the fines for each offense. Essentially, it provides a streamlined way to deal with minor violations of Town rules, covering areas like land use, parks, fire safety, tree protection, truck routes, building regulations, property maintenance, noise control, business licenses, streets, animal control, fireworks, safe premises, addressing, soil deposit/removal, zoning, subdivision, storm water, the Official Community Plan, Checkout Bags and Secondary Suite Permits.
