Amendments to Tree Protection Bylaw

"Councillor MacKenzie argued that due to significant tree loss from new provincial housing mandates, the Town cannot wait for the lengthy Urban Forest Strategy before tightening tree protections. Council supported the goal of identifying quick fixes, such as reducing the protected tree diameter threshold or increasing fees/warranties for replacement trees, and requiring developers to better justify removal of trees within the building envelope."
