"Council was highly supportive of the safety measure, acknowledging that drug use occurs in sheltered areas like public washrooms. Staff confirmed the container would need to be affixed to the outer wooden surround (not the rented portable toilet itself) and would require additional maintenance time from Parks staff. Council agreed to proceed with this installation and assess need at other major parks later."
