Council agreed to provide a letter of support for the Peninsula Streams Society's federal funding application for marsh restoration, conditional on the projects aligning with the View Royal Park Master Plan.
"Discussion focused on whether the proposed Tidal Marsh 1 and 2 areas deviated significantly from the existing View Royal Park Master Plan (which prioritized riparian transition zones). Staff recommended support only for projects aligning with the master plan, noting resource constraints and pending coastal adaptation planning. Council agreed to conditional support and referred the request for in-kind funding to future budget deliberations."
