Temporary Use Permit No. 2022/01 - 2 Hospital Way

Council reviewed a temporary permit request to use 2 Hospital Way as a construction parking lot, while noting concerns about securing a permanent public pedestrian right-of-way.

"The discussion centered on the potential to leverage the TUP process to secure a permanent public pedestrian access/right-of-way between 9 Erskine Lane and the CRD Hospital Trail via 2 Hospital Way. Mayor Screech was disappointed that the owners of 2 Hospital Way were not yet committed to formalizing this access, which he felt was a major community benefit tied to the approval of the 9 Erskine Lane rental project. Staff noted TUP applications are limited in requiring such amenities, but the applicant confirmed construction staff intended to use the informal pedestrian access."
