"J. Davison presented the DP for the 234-unit building. The primary issue was the request for a variance for 26 parking spaces (300 spots provided vs. 326 required). Council noted that since the purpose-built rental status was not secured by a covenant, the justification for reduced parking might be invalid if it later converted to strata/condo use, and preferred the applicant use the cash-in-lieu policy rather than a variance. Council requested the applicant clarify visitor parking locations and provide a materials sample board."
