"Discussion centered on the building's height and potential impact on Portage Park visibility, as well as traffic safety concerning the access/egress from Island Highway (left turn out discouraged by the Motor Vehicle Act). The applicant's architect suggested a taller building (six stories) could potentially reduce the building's overall length by 30-40 feet, mitigating park views. Council generally supported moving the application forward to a public hearing."
