Council received a letter from a resident objecting to the requirement to replace a removed dead tree at a 2:1 ratio, affirming the existing Tree Protection Bylaw requirements remain in place.
"Council discussed the necessity of the 2:1 replacement policy, even for dead trees, with the Director of Engineering (Rosenberg) explaining that waiving the requirement could incentivize property owners to wait until trees become dangerously dead before removing them. Council confirmed that the option to contribute funds to the tree planting program was available."
