Council discussed the OCP progress and voted to hold a special workshop to give input on the Western Gateway Corridor.
"A major debate occurred regarding Council's role in drafting the OCP. Councillor Mattson argued that previous OCP failures were due to Council input coming too late. He moved to hold a facilitated workshop for the Western Gateway Corridor specifically, despite staff warnings that this would delay the project and incur costs. The Chair (MacKenzie) opposed the motion, citing potential disregard for existing public engagement, but the motion passed."
