"Councillor MacKenzie initially pulled the item as the bike lane would be located on non-Town property (Minstry of Transportation and Infrastructure right-of-way, adjacent to Songhees Nation). Councillor Rogers clarified the intent was to encourage the Ministry to consult with First Nations regarding installation. Staff confirmed the road is Ministry-owned, alleviating Councillor MacKenzie's initial concern."
