Re: Variance request for CBI Health Centre, Eagle Creek Village

Dear Mayor Screech and Council;

The CBI Health Centre storefront signage in Eagle Creek Village, View Royal, is hopeful to consist of two sections of illuminated channel letters mounted on routed aluminum faces with individual illumination. Both sections of the signage will visually complement each other, creating a cohesive, simple, and attractive display.

CBI has leased a large open space with three broad walls of bright windows and wishes to incorporate “Physiotherapy” into their signage in order to avoid confusion with a strictly medical clinic. Granting this variance will prevent potential loss of business through lack of awareness in the surrounding community. Physiotherapy is an integral component of CBI. Throughout Canada, CBI is associated with physiotherapy and public well-being. We believe granting this variance will contribute to the success of this business by:

  • Raising awareness of the new physiotherapy clinic in the area
  • Creating an aesthetically pleasing storefront to be appreciated by all visitors to Eagle Creek Village
  • Maintaining and promoting the image of CBI Health Centres both in Victoria and across Canada

The owner therefore respectfully requests a variance be granted allowing CBI to include “Physiotherapy” in their storefront sign.

Sincerely,

Jonathan Button
