PURPOSE OF REPORT:

To solicit interest through a formal process for the maintenance of the Welland Legacy Park.

With the growing season upon us, issuing a Expression of Interest would allow the process to proceed in finding a partner to maintain the park

BACKGROUND:

Welland Legacy Park is an urban fruit orchard located in the northeast area of the Town of View Royal. The property is a south facing slope with approximately 235 trees, shrubs and vines on the site including full grown Eucalyptus trees, native Garry Oak and Douglas Fir trees, numerous fruit trees and small starter trees in pots. Many different fruit tree species are on the site, including apples (predominant species), figs, kiwi, hazelnut, plum, grapes, persimmon, to name just a few.

Once permission is granted to proceed with the draft Expression of Interest (attached) it will be advertised and evaluated to select a proponent.
