SUBJECT: COUNCIL – Economic Development Confidentiality & Communication

1. Purpose

To outline a formal process to keep Council informed of economic development initiatives within the context of containment of information within the sphere of Council.

2. Reference

Procedure Bylaw No. 375, 2000 Development Permit Processing Policy

3. Policy

The Mayor and/or the CAO will provide monthly briefings to Council in-camera of active economic development initiatives within the Town in order to keep Council informed and briefed. Due to the highly competitive nature of economic development initiatives it is the expectation that Council shall abide by the confidentiality component of this policy for containment of information.
