Payment In Lieu of Parking
In all areas identified in Schedule A of this bylaw, the owner or occupier of the land, building or structure may, in lieu of providing the required parking spaces as required by Town regulations for a given use, pay to the Town the amount of $12,000 for each parking space varied from those required in Town regulations for that use. Schedule A describes the maximum amount of required parking spaces which can be paid for in-lieu of providing the parking space, expressed in a percentage of required parking spaces.
If this option is taken, the owner or occupier of the land, building or structure must also pay an additional $10,000 per reduced parking space if the Town owns and operates an off-street parking facility within 250 metres of the land, building or structure for which the parking spaces are required.
