Correspondence from Barbara Ross regarding Tree Removal at 2 Ethos Place
Letter from homeowner appealing the initial denial of tree removal, citing arborist reports and damage to storm drains.

Dear Mr. Podmoroff:
RE: Tree Removal Permit Application – 2 Ethos Place – Town of View Royal
Thank you for your letter of February, 2014 in which you have given approval for the removal of the Douglas fir tree located immediately next to and touching the patio deck.
You denied the application to remove the two Douglas firs at the entrance to the house, pending an arborist’s report stating the reasons for removal.
The site was visited in in March by two arborists, namely Bartlett Tree Experts and Davey Tree Expert Co.
I attach a copy of the report from Davey Tree Expert of March 4, 2014 pertaining to the 80 cm Douglas Fir which is touching the porch at the front of the house. I also attach a report from Bartlett Tree Experts of March 23, 20143 which refers to both trees at the front of the house.
It seems apparent from these reports that both trees pose a threat to the house and possibly the storm drains. Davey states “the damage will only become significantly worse over time” and Bartlett states “the trees should be removed due to the fact they are beginning to cause major damage and are too close to the building”
Consequently, I would ask you to please issue a permit for the removal of these trees as soon as possible.
Thank you for you continued assistance in this matter.
Sincerely,
Lynn Ross 2 Ethos Place
