Permitted Uses

  • Banks and financial institutions
  • Business and professional offices
  • Café, Restaurant: Carry-out, Restaurant: Fast-Food, and Restaurant: Full-Service. Restaurant: Fast-Food uses are required to incorporate the use of odour reducing equipment that has the effect of substantially reducing odour emissions into the airspace outside of the building or structure in which they are located, and specifications related to the use of such equipment shall be made available to the Town for review and approval prior to issuance of Development and/or Building Permits required for the establishment of Restaurant: Fast-Food uses.
  • Cold storage plant
  • Computer technology sales, service and manufacturing
  • Electronics manufacturing
  • Indoor sports and recreational facilities
  • Licensed Retail Store (Amendment Bylaw, 2004, No. 540)
  • Light manufacturing and food processing (excluding the primary processing meat, poultry and fish)
  • Medical office and services
  • Personal service establishments
  • Retail sale and installation of motor vehicle, trailer and boat accessories
  • Retail sales and rental of goods and services
  • Scientific or technological research facilities
  • Veterinary clinics or animal hospitals in enclosed buildings

Conditions of Use

No use shall be permitted which causes an annoyance or nuisance to surrounding areas by reason of unsightliness, the emission of odours, liquid effluent, dust, fumes, smoke, vibration, noise, glare, or health, fire or explosion hazard, electrical interference or undue traffic congestion.

No use, operation or storage of materials shall be allowed outside of an enclosed building or structure.

The daily hours of operation for a licensed retail store shall be limited to between 9.00am and 11.00pm.

At such time as a licensed retail store is established on any property within the CD-1 Zone, no additional licensed retail stores shall be permitted on land within 320 metres of the original licensed retail store. (Amendment Bylaw, 2004, No. 540)
