Re: Accessory Building-Structural Construction at 291 Kerwood St.

Dear Mr. Scott:

Further to our study of the accessory building at 291 Kerwood St. in View Royal, the work recently completed to repair rotted foundation wood beams and decking, in my opinion, was necessary for the expected maintenance activities that a building exposed to a salt water environment would require under regular maintenance activities.

Modifications include replacement of several rotted decking boards as well as wood structural members supporting the building.

As well, there have been related repairs including the addition of saddles to secure the wood structural beams, previously mentioned, to the concrete pilings that support these wood members.

The repairs/replacement meets the intent of the BC Building Code 2006.

Please advise if you require anything further.

Regards

Victor H. Proctor P. Eng.
