Project Name: Secure outdoor storage Priority: Required Public Engagement: Not applicable Project Number: 2-2-12101-310 CC1290 Financial Plan: 2025 – 2029 Reference: C-193 Submitted by: Paul Hurst, Director Paul Hurst, Emergency Program
Executive Summary
Acquire and install an overhead roof structure between 2 existing storage containers in the upper parking lot of the Public Safety Building
Business problem and opportunity
Emergency program vehicles and trailers are currently stored outside in the upper overflow parking of the Public Safety Building. This arrangement is not optimal as this equipment is exposed to weather and lacks security making it susceptible to vandalism and theft.
Proposed project objectives
The project includes an overhead roof structure between 2 storage containers, with an enclosed chain-link fence to secure the vehicles. This also includes outside power so vehicles can be plugged in to maintain chargers and heaters.
Business risks
The department has experienced unauthorized entry into the parking lot. As well, the Emergency Program vehicle and supply trailers are exposed to weather and freezing in the winter
