1. Describe your organization's mission statement and how your services meet them: Ocean Ambassadors Canada is an environmental charity that is turning the tide on marine pollution through experiential ocean education programs for children and youth, zero waste coaching for small businesses, community initiatives and single-use item reduction campaigns. Through our programs, initiatives, and coaching, we empower people of all ages to protect what they love.

Details of Your Organization’s Grant Request

1. Nature and goals of the project, program or event: PickUp3 is an easy and fun way for everyone to help protect our local marine environment and wildlife. PickUp3 is a growing movement driven by communities that care. These communities want to keep our beaches clean. PickUp3 has three simple steps. First, community members visit a local beach. Second, they pick up three pieces of litter. Finally, participants dispose of their trash, and use the QR code found on local garbage cans to track their pickup. With the help of our volunteers, we are hoping to reach the following three goals for Vancouver Island:

1. 100,000 pieces of trash removed from beaches
2. 4000+ people inspired to participate in our communities
3. 200+ people to be inspired to volunteer at PickUp3 events PickUp3 View Royal project goals: Host education events at local parks, beaches and community schools.

2. A fun and easy way for community members to feel that they are contributing to their community
3. View Royal can track their litter pickup and share with community members to build pride
4. An easy opportunity to volunteer. People can volunteer by engaging friends, family members and neighbours.
5. People who pick up trash start to recognize the problem of litter in our environment and may change their habits. When we hear the ocean is in trouble it's easy to feel overwhelmed. If you want to take action but don't know where to start, PickUp3 is a growing movement driven by communities that care. These communities want to take action and remove plastic and other waste from our beaches, educate on the importance of ocean health and inspire people to make a change. Anyone from ages 0-99 can participate. The power of this movement is in the numbers – the more people pick up, the cleaner the ocean.
