Details of Item to be Added: The previous Council expressed an interest in pursing a requirement for 10% of new multifamily development to be allocated for 'affordable' housing. This would only be possible when a rezoning is required - noting rezoning is a privilege not a right. This type of requirement is policy in some municipalities. This item is still outstanding. The purpose of bringing this to CoW is for members of the new Council determine whether this is a policy they would like to pursue (the % allocated for 'affordable' housing would be part of the discussion).

If yes then a motion for staff to prepare a report / draft a policy would be appropriate
