To the Mayor and Councilors

Regarding Agenda Item 6.1.3 a) Thetis Lake Park Cost Recovery Bylaw

Thank you to staff for a well formulated deterrent to the inappropriate behaviour at Thetis Lake that which has caused heartache to many and a significant emotional and financial strain on emergency responders. I strongly encourage the Mayor and council to vote in favor of bringing forward bylaw 1073 for its first reading May 18 and ultimately voting in favor of changes that will discourage cliff jumping and other reckless behaviour at Thetis Lake.

Regarding Agenda Item 9.3.3 a)

Thank you again to staff for the well constructed Tree Protection Bylaw amendments. I applaud, in particular, the recommendation for trees removed within the building envelope no longer being excluded from the replacement requirement, and making replacement trees protected. The town's interest in preserving trees is paramount to the livability of View Royal and shows your dedication to protect against climate change as we can. I hope this amendment will ultimately be brought forward for a favorable vote.

Sincerely,

Cathie Blanchard 290 Island Highway, Suite 101 View Royal
