Deck and Guard Specifications:

  • Width: 16'0"
  • Slope: Slope deck to drain minimum 2% (1:50)
  • Guard Rail Height: 42"
  • Guard Construction: Guards shall be "non-climbable" and no openings shall be greater than 4" spacing.
  • Joists: 2"x10" @ 12" spacing SPF #1 or #2 (See Deck Details)
  • Beam: 3 2"x8"
  • Connection: See Connection Detail

Foundation and Support:

  • Posts: 6x6 Post
  • Anchorage: Post Saddle with Anchor Bolt
  • Vertical Clearance: 94" (from patio floor to beam)
  • Patio: See Patio Floor Detail
  • Footing: 16" x 16" x 8" concrete footing
    • Reinforced with 1/2" REBAR
    • Requirements: Resting on undisturbed soil free of organic material. Minimum 18" below grade or must be below the frost line.
    • Dimensions: 18" MIN. depth below grade; 8" MIN. footing thickness.
