PLANTING NOTES:
- All Landscape and Construction to meet or exceed the BCSLA/BCNTA LANDSCAPE STANDARD, Latest Edition.
- Number of each species and locations to be determined with the landscape designer and the RPBio following construction of the retaining walls once exact planting areas and slopes are known.
- All trees to be retained to be protected as recommended by the arborist during construction/installation.
- Minimum soil depths: 30cm in Perennial / Ground cover areas; 45cm in shrub areas.
- Planted areas to be mulched with 10cm composted mulch.
- Trees to be planted at the direction of the arborist; 2 Trees to replace the shoreline Douglas-fir to be removed for seawall, if additional tree removals are required they will be replaced 2:1 with suitable native species.
- Irrigation at the direction of the Landscape Architect or,
- Years 1 and 2 - watering minimum 1/week deeply during the growing season (e.g. May 1- Sep 30, weather dependent), 2/week when temperatures are over 28 degrees C or plants are wilting.
- Year 3 - Water as needed to establish and wean plants off irrigation.
- Invasive species removal a minimum of 4 times/growing season for a minimum of 3 growing seasons to control invasive species in the DPA and to prevent planted areas from becoming re-invaded by non-native, invasive species.
- Substitutions and layout changes must meet the Development Permit Guidelines and be approved by the RPBio.
