I just want to let you know as a resident, 2446 Lund Road, of View Royal whose family lives right next to Chilco Park.

We, my wife and I, are vehemently opposed to any change in the by law which would allow camping in any park in the View Royal much less the park that is literally adjacent to our residence.

I have seen first hand how the camping issue (of the homeless) is unsustainable in a residential area. Trust me I know as I am a police officer with the Victoria Police Department, I have worked and walked the beat downtown for 15 years before moving on to another job within the police department.

Please please watch this story done by a KOMO news pertaining to the city of Seattle.

This story really speaks to what has been occurring in Victoria for years and now more so with the current council in place.

This issue has now started to cross municipal boundaries into Saanich and other areas.

Please watch the news story in its entirety with an open mind and heart.

You as elected officials and the rest of the public need to realize we do not have a homeless crisis.

The crisis we are having is a lack of multi-disciplinary drug/mental health intervention.

The Homelessness or the difficult to house is the direct result.
