Following up View Royal Council’s commitment to engage the residents in the Chancellor Park neighbourhood one year from the installation of an asphalt play pad (basketball court/hockey net) in Chancellor Park, we request that you submit this survey either to Town Hall or via email to engineering@viewroyal.ca no later than January 11, 2019.

    • WE ENJOY SEEING CHILDREN AND ADULTS PLAYING HOCKEY OR BASKETBALL. ONLY PLACE FOR YOUNG ADULTS AND TEENAGERS TO GO DO SOMETHING. WE SEE ALOT OF FAMILIES USING IT.

    • If yes, please explain: SEEN SOME SUSPICIOUS PEOPLE. WITNESSED A GUY WITH MULTIPLE BACKPACKS BEHIND TREE, THEN DISPOSED OF ONE OVER HIGHWAY FENCE.

    • I HAVEN'T SEEN ANYTHING MORE THEN BEFORE AFTER PAD WAS PUT IN, UNFORTUNATELY WITH GALLOPING GOOSE & HIGHWAY PATH, WE GET SOME NOT SO GOOD CHARACTERS PASSING THROUGH. ALSO LOTS OF KIDS IN NEIGHBOURHOOD, & A RE-VAMP ON PARK WOULD BE NICE.

    • Not related to play-pad: please consider speed bumps along Quincy, several pets + small children use the park and walk along Quincy (no sidewalks) cars park on side with no parking, lots of traffic speeds + more traffic with construction vehicles.

    • IT HAS BECOME OUR 'GOTO' WALK IN FINE WEATHER WITH OUR LITTLE GRANDDAUGHTER. I WOULD LIKE TO SUGGEST THAT A SIGN INDICATING DOGS SHOULD BE ON A LEASH AS A DOG CAME UP BEHIND ME ONE DAY AND I THOUGHT IT WAS A WOLF. IT SCARED ME TO DEATH. IT WAS OF NO HARM BUT A BIG DOG COULD KNOCK ONE OVER CAUSING ACCIDENTAL INJURY

    • If yes, please explain: drug deals but our house is too far to see licences. More noise at tunnels then the park

    • If yes, please explain: It annoys us that chancellor ave is used to deal drugs + the park parking lot

    • If yes, please explain: No — when children are at the park my dog + I use the grass the park is for children

    • If yes, please explain: No it is families - older teens in Summer but later

    • There are preschoolers that visit the park The play pad is great - youngster play basketball or hockey with parents. It brings families together I feel this is needed. Many children live in Condos or apartments. It is wonderful to see children + parents playing without electronics

    • If yes, please explain: no, not in regards to the court but there is still the usual cars coming and parking in front of park and a terrible amount of litter

    • If yes, please explain: yes, I suspect it is drug related (see above) Cars coming + going, loud music, litter etc.

    • I do appreciate this form asking for feedback as promised a year ago - but honestly, it was a shame to see our well used park, not that big, ripped up and a court put down. It is such a lovely little bit of green space that I felt it was not the appropriate place to put it. Myself and others in the area were very angry we were not consulted nor informed this decision was being made.

    • If yes, please explain: Yes, people leaving the bushes in the morning. - We check for drug paraphernalia before using the park which is frustrating.

    • It is a nice idea. I am waiting for a basketball to hit a passing biker.
