Mayor and Council,

It is the commitment of the West Shore RCMP Detachment to remain proactive in our policing, further to our discussions regarding policing resources at the West Shore Detachment, specifically referencing the recommendations of the GDSAC and the 5 year Policing Plan, we are respectfully asking for an increase of one (1) Regular Member and one (1) Municipal Employee to be approved for 2020.

With the approval of this request the View Royal complement would be brought up to 12.35 Regular members and 5 Municipal Employees providing 24 hour General Duty services with access to all of West Shore’s support units including, but not limited to: Community Policing/ First Nations Policing, Drug Section, Property Crime Unit, GIS, Traffic, Police Dog, Bike Unit and the clerical services provided to the community such as ATIP, Criminal Record Checks and responses to general Inquiries.
