Hi Kim,

A few months ago, a woman came in on Petitions and Delegations regarding their issues / concerns / wants regarding Erskine Lane area. She was from Eskine Lane Strata and the petition was signed from both the strata and residents across Watkiss in Stone Ridge. Council received the petition and said we'd consider when #7 (or any development) was on the agenda.

I don't see it as part of the attachments for tonight's agenda. Please direct someone to:

add it to the digital public agenda so it maybe referred to as a matter of record
give us a paper copy.

The proposal tonight cannot be considered in isolation to what has been approved (#10) and what is likely (#9) this term. I support Ron's call for a comprehensive development plan for Erskine Lane. Traffic, sidewalks, density, new roads, late comers agreements, park amenities (is Aldersmith, Chancellor too far for toddlers?). Ron, I and others committed to do this for the residents during the last election. We need the big picture and plan proactively. Didn't Sarah say there could be hundreds of units to come?! 340? 440?

Latecomers agreements for the eventual light at Erskine and Watkiss Way. Kim, I recall the town got into a real mess with the traffic light at Hart Road because we failed to get the proper late comer agreements in place. Result: the taxpayers had to pay into that light. I don't want that to happen again. Of course #7 would like to discuss in isolation... all developers want that. But its not in the best interests for the town.

Heads up... the sidewalk cannot be a 'future' matter. It must be finished and ready if #7... or #10... or #9 go through. Why can't it be on the Erskine Strata side??. It looks like there is right of way / space to do so and still allows parking on the opposite side.

Dear Mayor and Council,

Please find attached a petition of 60 signatures comprising of residents on both sides of Watkiss Way -- Erskine Lane Strata to the south and the Stoneridge neighbourhood to the north. As President of Erskine Lane strata, I have heard loud and clear that pedestrian and traffic safety is paramount for families in this area. We worry for our elderly, children and all residents. This is especially so given the huge amount of current and future development that is coming on lots 7, 9 and 10. Residents expect Council will ensure the developers will build, and/or contribute to necessary infrastructure, including through late-comers agreements.

The Erskine Lane sidewalk must be to town standards(concrete), the full length on the south side (strata side) where there is ample space, as View Royal already owns a right of way on the Strata side (see attached CRD map) and completed before #7 Erskine has an occupancy permit, so that residents have safe access to the Galloping Goose Trail and before the traffic volume probably doubles. It doesn't make sense to put a temporary asphalt sidewalk on #7/#9 side when most of the sidewalk will be along #9 Erskine and who knows when that will sell. There must be two speed humps on Erskine Lane to slow the speed of vehicles. There must be a lit pedestrian path on the CRD water right of way from Erskine to VGH transit terminus. The area wants a vehicle controlled light or a roundabout at the Watkiss Way/Erskine/Stoneridge intersection in place as soon as #7 Erskine Lane development is approved.

We are also concerned about where all the trades people will park for #7 development. Perhaps the town needs temporary parking permits on Watkiss Way or maybe they can park on the CRD right of way? There is certainly no room on Erskine!

Lastly, we expect the all the building's designs, landscaping etc. will be of the highest standards to compliment the ambiance and property values in the area, with ample green and natural areas.
