Dear Mayor David Screech,

We are reviewing our reporting procedures to the West Shore municipalities concerning Mayor's reports. Our goal is to provide timely reporting to our communities of crime trends, statistics and achievements by the West Shore RCMP detachment. In the past we had been providing four quarterly, as well as a year-end Mayor's Reports in written format. To enhance the understanding of policing in our community we would like to implement the use of other forms of communication including videos and media releases that highlight our operations and members. Therefore, we would like to revise our reporting format to the municipalities to include the following:

  • midyear and annual West Shore detachment Mayor's Reports
  • annual video recap of West Shore detachment highlights and developments
  • monthly summary of West Shore detachment media releases including major files and community interest articles

We invite your input into the proposed changes to our reporting procedures. We hope to improve communication of our detachment operations and response to community priorities.

Yours truly,

Inspector Todd Preston Officer In Charge West Shore Detachment
