Dear Mayor and Council of View Royal
We are applying to build a small enclosed building on the far South West side of our property.
The structure is for sitting area with ocean view would have glass facing both south and west direction to make full use of afternoon and evening sun.
The Rational reason is, while owning our property we have done our utmost to beautify it using the natural elements, native species of plants and flowers. We’ve also adjusted our plans to fit the existing trees and natural elements of the land. Hence the location of proposed building is dictated by , trees and topographical layout of the land, in so doing it puts us within the 15m mark.
Being on point does expose us to a constant barrage of wind. Even a slight breeze coming over the water is always cool and not comfortable for an extended period. We would thoroughly enjoy enclosing our existing seating area and have a nice timber Frame style room to relax in year-round.
We would like it to be noted that previously we had plans of tearing the house down and building a 2-level home more suited for this large parcel. The Property was approved for such and endeavor and the permits were processed.
We at the time decided to make a conscience decision to abandon those plans because of the tole it would take on the neighbors. The existing landscape and the vegetation and wildlife that makes their home on our property.
We will attach a few pictures outlining the layout and elevations to help apply some context to our request.
