Town of View Royal Project Sustainability Checklist (Attachment 10)
Final page of a sustainability checklist for an OCP amendment application at 2401 Burnside Road West, focusing on community stakeholder involvement.
Additional Comments:
How have residents and community stakeholders been involved in the planning and design process?
In anticipation of the application and to be proactive in our outreach with potential future neighbours, early engagement with immediate neighbours and site stakeholders started in late-November. A combination of in person outreach, stakeholder letters and a media advisory occurred in November and again in February 2018. Stakeholders included the immediate neighbours to the site, the Bowmen Archery Club, and Capital Regional District on site, Eagle View Elementary, the Greater Victoria School District, environmental watershed groups and local First Nations.
A neighbourhood open house is planned for February 20th 2018 at Eagle View Elementary School to provide an opportunity for BC Transit to share plans and to hear from the neighbourhood about concerns and opportunities associated with the proposed property use. A summary of “What Was Heard” will be presented to the Town of View Royal as an amendment to this application.
