I am dumbfounded as to why the members of View Royal Council would seriously think this is in the interests of their constituents.
Noise pollution is bad enough from the highway let alone this. The stench and pollution of diesel fuel in a residential neighbourhood is a Major concern which no amount of pacification on HandyDart’s part will make it go away, diesel pollutes!
Also, i find it interesting that someone who lives 100 feet away from Craigflower Creek cannot get a permit to slightly increase the size of their deck due to proximity of their garden to the creek, yet we can permit a maintenance yard full of busses to exist next to it.
There is so much traffic on Watkiss and Burnside, granted some of it is due to construction at Admirals and McKenzie, but before construction began, this was always a busy area. The traffic lights have actually made things worse. My point is let’s not add to it by having busses coming and going all day and most of the evening.
Where is the quality of life for residents who live in this area? Noise travels and believe me, the highway is loud and clear at the top of Highland road so this proposal will make it much worse. Leave it where is it. We don’t want it or need it.
Craigflower creek and the salmon habitat which volunteers have worked tirelessly on for many years will disappear all for the sake of extra dollars in the bank. It is a nice green space for the archery club too, leave it alone.
Time to step up council and say no behalf of the residents who voted you in. We don’t want this!
