Dear Deb,

I wanted to thank you for the latest edition of "Craigflower Country". I haven't read all of it, but I did read about Stancil Lane. I'm hoping that when things settle down after Christmas, I'll be able to put my feet up and read the whole book!

I have lived on Stancil Lane for 58 years and feel very blessed to have been part of the community with my husband, Charlie and our children. If you can believe it, 50 years ago my family would flash the kitchen lights at the train (complete with cow catcher) as it passed our kitchen window at supper time. The man in the caboose would wave his lantern in response. The rail line followed what is now known as the Galloping Goose Trail. We all have very pleasant memories and are proud the way View Royal has evolved.

My nephew, Brian Stancil has approached the Town in hopes of having the little park on Stancil Lane named in memory of my parents and their family. I echo this request, so if you are able to take this forward to the Mayor and Councillors, I certainly would appreciate it. It would really be a tribute to my parents, Ernest and Muriel Stancil.
