Private Use Garden Extension Agreement – Game Nature Park

RECOMMENDATION:

THAT the extension from April 1, 2017 to March 31, 2020, of the Private Use Garden Agreement with 14 Erskine Lane Strata VIS3076, for a private use garden within Game Nature Park, be approved.

I concur with the recommendation.

PURPOSE OF REPORT:

To review agreement prior to completion of the first term.

BACKGROUND:

At the March 17, 2015 council meeting Council approved a private use agreement with the 14 Erskine Lane Strata for a two year trial period, which will expire on March 31, 2017. Agreement attached as Schedule A.

The Strata VIS 3076 has advised that they would be interested in extending the term of this agreement, based on the same terms and conditions as the original agreement.

There are currently two individual garden plots in operation of a possible eight depending on size and location.

PROJECT INFORMATION:

Strata VIS 3076 built two trial garden plots which they found to be successful for both the 2015 and 2016 garden season. They have requested to extend the agreement under the same terms and conditions.

Staff attended the site various times over the initial term and have had no concerns with regards to maintenance; and no comments, concerns or complaints have been received.

ALTERNATIVES TO STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

The agreement is not extended.

RECOMMENDATION:

THAT the extension from April 1, 2017 to March 31, 2020, of the Private Use Garden Agreement with 14 Erskine Lane Strata VIS3076, for a private use garden within Game Nature Park, be approved.
