2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA
December 1, 2016 meetingComments regarding traffic problems at Helmcken and Tim Hortons

Public Consultation Comments

I think the opening of the Little Rd easement would go a long ways to alleviating entrance/exit traffic problems in Eagle Creek - And upgrades to both Helmcken Rd intersections. Saanich would have to improve the Little - Burnside Rd sections. Love the pub idea.

Yes - open a pub

ATM

  • A post office in the IDA drug store (there's one by all Forbes IDA including Cordova Bay)
  • ATM machine
  • if 3 women 40-60 were asked they'd be pro-female - not male sports bar

Thank you for attending this evening and sharing your view of the proposal.

Think it's a great ideal. Would be great to be able to walk to a pub and then get groceries at the same time. Carol Kitson Mel Kitson

Very much in favour of a pub that could serve as a community gathering place. This seems well conceived and well supported

  1. Vehicles Turning left out of Village Illegally onto Helmcken by Tim Hortons during quiet times Needs better lane restriction to only go right or? (Not good by a pub)

  2. With additional Condos going in. Exit on to Helmcken must be reviewed. Only two exits a problem One Suggestion - create right turn lane on Helmcken into village or New Exit and Road to Burnside North from Village

  3. I fully support the rezoning to Neighborhood

I love the prospect of having a zoning amended to allow a neighbourhood pub. have to have a place within walking distance

I support the re-zoning for a neighbourhood pub. It will be nice to have a pub we can walk to

TRAFFIC PROBLEMS SEEM TO BE MORE OF AN ISSUE THAN THE PUB REZONING BUT OF COURSE LINKED WITH INCREASED PATRONAGE. SIGNAGE TO EAGLE CREEK ENTRANCE FROM HWY 1 AND THE HELMCKEN ENTRANCE IS NOT IN LINE WITH THE HABITS OF DRIVERS.

LITTLE ROAD ACCESS.

Absolutely yes. This is a good move for the community, just one that is needed in this area.

FULLY SUPPORTIVE OF THIS PROPOSAL GOING FORWARD.

A good use so that families can eat as well as a pub. Easy walking for locals. This is my area but the #14 bus comes right by so no need to drink and drive. Pub food is reasonably priced.

There is room for an extra pub as 4 mile + 6 mile have sufficient clientele. Competition is always good - Different beers + different snacks benefit all residents
