Correspondence regarding Trucks on Hallowell Road

From: Jasmine Ruhr Sent: December-21-16 7:59 PM To: John Rosenberg Cc: Jennifer Smith Subject: Trucks on Hallowell Road

Dear Mr. Rosenberg

Re: Trucking on Hallowell Road

Further to my email of October 17 to the Mayor/Council concerning the trucking on Hallowell Road proposed by the Esquimalt First Nation, the biggest concern now for me is that the majority of residents did not want a sound attenuation installed based on the meeting summary that you had with our strata #4909 representatives yesterday December 20, 2016.

The reason that we moved to Hallowell Road three years ago was due to noise/vibration issues in our previous residency. My health was permanently compromised. We did raise this concern with CRD when learning about the project a couple of years ago.

Once again, commercial trucks should not be allowed to run on a residential area. If the trucking project could not be terminated, we would especially request a sound attenuation to be installed. Continuous noise and vibration caused by heavy trucks and 600+ vehicles once Thetis Cove is developed would further deteriorate my health.

This is a health issue. A SOUND BARRIER IS A MUST IF THE TRUCKING PROJECT WOULD NOT BE STOPPED.

The Town of View Royal should be responsible for the health of their residents when it comes to an ill project like this one.

We are directly impacted by the project. Your taking our health concerns and fears into account would be appreciated.

Updates on the project is much appreciated when they are available. Thank you.
