RECOMMENDATION:
THAT the report dated June 8, 2017 from the Director of Finance titled “Grant in Aid Application – Shoreline Community School Association” be received for information.

I concur with the recommendation.
PURPOSE OF REPORT:
To provide Council with information regarding the Shoreline Community School Association grant in aid request.
BACKGROUND DISCUSSION:
The Shoreline Community School Association is a registered society that provides youth programs and drop in recreational opportunities for a wide spectrum of community members. The Association has typically received a $30,000 grant in aid each year from the Town of View Royal. The application attached meets all criteria identified in the Grants in Aid policy.
PROJECT INFORMATION:
The attached grant in aid application submitted by the Shoreline Community School Association requests $20,000 for the purpose of supporting youth programs throughout the school year.
BUDGET IMPLICATIONS:
Council approved a 2017 budget for grants in aid of $92,000. To date $67,875 has been allocated to applicants, leaving a balance of $24,125 unallocated.
RECOMMENDATION:
THAT the report dated June 8, 2017 from the Director of Finance titled “Grant in Aid Application – Shoreline Community School Association” be received for information.
