Details of Your Organization's Grant Request
Nature and goals of the project, program or event: Summerfest will be a celebration of View Royal and focus on connecting community together and create long term community benefits as well as a day of joy. With the artisan market and live performances, we will be helping to support local artists, which is one of our focuses this year with View Royal lacking a defined Arts Hub. The hands on portion will also bring folks of all demographics together to build permanent structures that are focuse don helping our community out, whether is be with food insecurity, reading materials or encouraging their green thumbs. This event will also serve to remind the community the the VRCA is here for them and we will continue creating events and programming that will serve View Royal.
Summary of direct and indirect benefits to the Town of View Royal: This event will directly benefit View Royal by encouraging locals to support local artisans, connecting to one another and creating a sense of pride. The outdoor community gardening beds and building mural will continue to beautify our VRCA Hall space, which is very visible to the community. The permanent items built (little library, pantry) will continue to serve the residents of View Royal now and in the future with access to free books and pantry items for those the need them.
