Request for Grant in Aid from the Town of View Royal
WHEREAS the View Royal Community Association (VRCA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for the residents of View Royal by fostering a sense of community, promoting civic engagement, and supporting local initiatives that contribute to the social, environmental, and cultural well-being of the area;
AND WHEREAS the Board of Directors of the VRCA has identified the need for a community orientated event encourages residents to support local artists and create community infrastructure, which will contribute to the community spirit of the region;
AND WHEREAS funding for this project is necessary to purchase supplies for the infrastructures and the community mural and pay performing artists;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Directors of the View Royal Community Association (VRCA) hereby approves the submission of a request for a Grant in Aid to the Town of View Royal in the amount of $6000 for the purpose of funding the community event “Summerfest” at 279 Island Hwy.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the VRCA commits to using the funds solely for the stated event, and agrees to provide a report to the Town of View Royal upon completion of the project, detailing the use of the funds and the project’s impact on the community.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Community Manager, Sloane Chomeakwich, is authorized to submit all necessary documents and to communicate with the appropriate officials from the Town of View Royal regarding this request for a Grant in Aid.
RESOLVED AND PASSED unanimously by the Board of Directors of the View Royal Community Association this 27th of February, 2026.
