Amends the Business Licence bylaw by deleting 'Home Crafts' and redefining 'Home-Based Business' into three types: Home Office, Minor, and Major.
TOWN OF VIEW ROYAL BYLAW NO. 1174
A BYLAW TO AMEND THE BUSINESS LICENCE AND REGULATION BYLAW PERTAINING TO CHANGES TO THE HOME OCCUPATION REGULATIONS
The Council of the Town of View Royal, in open meeting assembled, enacts as follows:
CITATION
- This Bylaw may be cited as “Business Licence and Regulation Bylaw No. 952, 2016, Amendment Bylaw No. 1174, 2026”.
AMENDMENTS
Business Licence and Regulation Bylaw No. 952, 2016 is amended as follows:
a) Under Definitions, by deleting Home Crafts its entirety.
b) By repealing the definition of “Home Occupation” under Part 1 – Interpretation and adding the following:
“Home-Based Business” means the accessory use of a residential dwelling unit by its resident for commercial purposes that does not change the residential character of the dwelling unit. A home-based business may be one of three types: 1) Home Office home-based business, 2) Minor home-based business, or 3) Major home-based business.
c) By repealing Section 13 in its entirety and replacing it with the following:
- Every Licence Inspector, Fire Inspector, and Bylaw Compliance Officer of the Municipality may enter at all reasonable times on any property that is subject to this bylaw to ascertain whether the regulations in this bylaw are being observed.
EFFECTIVE DATE
- This bylaw comes into force on January 1, 2027.
