Sign Bylaw No. 950, 2018, Amendment Bylaw No. 1177, 2026
Amends the Sign Bylaw to define 'Home-Based Business Sign' and restrict wall and freestanding signs in residential districts to Minor or Major home-based businesses.
TOWN OF VIEW ROYAL BYLAW NO. 1177
A BYLAW TO AMEND THE SIGN BYLAW PERTAINING TO CHANGES TO THE HOME OCCUPATION REGULATIONS
The Council of the Town of View Royal, in open meeting assembled, enacts as follows:
CITATION
- This Bylaw may be cited as “Sign Bylaw No. 950, 2018, Amendment Bylaw No. 1177, 2026”.
AMENDMENTS
Sign Bylaw No. 950, 2018 is amended as follows:
a) By repealing the definition of “Home Occupation Sign” under Section 2.0 Definitions and adding the following:
“Home-Based Business Sign” means a Wall Sign or Freestanding Sign which is used to advertise a home-based business use for which a Business Licence has been issued by the Municipality.
b) By repealing Section 6.2.a) and replacing it with the following:
a) Freestanding signs within Rural, Attached Residential or Detached Residential Sign Districts must be associated with a Minor or Major home-based business.
c) By repealing Section 6.7.a) and replacing it with the following:
a) Wall signs within Rural, Attached Residential or Detached Residential Sign Districts must be associated with a Minor or Major home-based business.
EFFECTIVE DATE
- This bylaw comes into force on January 1, 2027.
