RE: Letter of Support – New West Shore RCMP Facility

Dear Ministers,

I would like to extend my support for the joint request you received from the Mayors of Langford, Colwood, and View Royal dated December 4, 2025. They are requesting federal support towards the new RCMP detachment which will serve the West Shore region of Vancouver Island.

West Shore is one of the fastest growing regions on Vancouver Island and this project is paramount to ensuring we can continue to meet public safety and policing needs and service demands.

This is a project that the municipalities have already committed to, but they are requesting federal support. Given that the RCMP is a federal policing service, and public safety is a priority for the federal government, I believe this project would be well suited to receiving federal supports as requested.

In the letter they have requested a commitment deadline of February 1, 2026. I urge you to offer appropriate support and make the commitment by their requested deadline.
