Dear Mayor & Council:
On Thursday, February 7, 2019, a successful open house about the proposed Craigflower Community Centre was held at the Shoreline Community Middle School. Approximately 75 invitations were hand-delivered to surrounding neighbours, and about 21 people attended.
At the event, background information about the proposal and the Victoria Highland Games Association (VHGA) was provided, as well as panels showing the historic use of the land, the site plan, floor plans, elevations, and perspectives of the proposed centre. Along with consultants, members of the Association were in attendance and available to answer questions.
Comments received at the open house were generally very favourable. One couple, who live on Shoreline Drive, did express concern about the potential for increased traffic and parking issues, although it would seem some of their concern stems from other proposed developments in the area.
