Dear Mayor Screech and Council:

I write to you today, on behalf of myself and the 47 members of the Esquimalt Lions Club, to express our considered and unanimous support to the Craigflower Hall initiative.

It is our firm belief that this much-needed venue will provide the View Royal and surrounding communities with a valuable asset and enable the conduct of numerous initiatives in support of community health and social interaction. The Craigflower Hall would become a place for community and family celebrations, large and small scale meetings and/or conferences, and provide clubs like the Esquimalt Lions and the Victoria Police Pipe and Drum Band with a viable meeting place.

We are very familiar with the historic value of the property and we firmly believe the new building will heighten awareness and complement the historical significance of Craigflower Manor. We feel also that it will be a definitive asset to View Royal and help to promote a strong community spirit relative to the property and the surrounding area for years to come. Further, we feel strongly enough about this initiative to have agreed, as a Club, to make a substantial financial commitment to the project.

Thank you for your consideration.

Yours truly;

Lion Lin McPhee, President, The Esquimalt Lions Club
