Proposed bylaw amendment to create a Public Safety (P-10) zone for emergency services and civic use.
TOWN OF VIEW ROYAL BYLAW NO. 857
A BYLAW TO AMEND THE TOWN OF VIEW ROYAL LAND USE BYLAW WITH RESPECT TO CREATING A PUBLIC SAFETY (P-10) ZONE
The Council of the Town of View Royal, in open meeting assembled, enacts as follows:
This Bylaw may be cited as "Land Use Bylaw, 1990, No. 35, Amendment Bylaw No. 857, 2013".
Section 2 of Part 1 of said Bylaw No. 35 is hereby amended by adding the following definition: "Public Safety Facility – A facility for safety and emergency services, including the provision of police, ambulance, emergency or fire protection services and related administrative, training and operational use."
Section 41 of Part 6 of said Bylaw No. 35 is hereby amended by adding the following phrase to the list of zoning designations and abbreviations: "Public Safety: P-10"
Subsection 43(2) of Part 6 of said Bylaw No. 35 is hereby amended by adding the following Zone Table immediately after the "Local Institutional: P-9" Zone Table:

- Public Utility
- Family Resource Centre
- Child Care Facility
- Residential Apartment

Section 48(2)(c) of Part 7 of Land Use Bylaw, 1990, No. 35 is hereby amended by adding "Public Safety: P-10" to the list of Zones within "Sign Zone "5"".
Schedule "1" Zoning Map referred to in Section 42 of Land Use Bylaw, 1990, No. 35, is amended by amending the zoning and zoning boundaries for lands legally described as
- Lot 6, Section 92, Esquimalt District, Plan VIP5877 (329 Island Highway)
- Lot B, Section 92, Esquimalt District, Plan VIP37822 (331 Island Highway)
- Lot A, Section 92, Esquimalt District, Plan VIP37822 (333 Island Highway)
- Lot B, Section 92, Esquimalt District, Plan VIP20548 (335 Island Highway)
- Lot A, Section 92, Esquimalt District, Plan VIP20548 (337 Island Highway)
which are currently zoned Community Institutional: P-1 such that the zoning for the aforementioned property is established as follows:
The lands as shown outlined and labelled "SUBJECT PROPERTY" on the sketch plan of 329-337 Island Highway attached hereto and forming part of this Bylaw as Schedule '1' is zoned Public Safety: P-10.
